Nic Salt E-Liquid in Canada: How to Pick One That Fits Your Device
Disposables get all the attention, and they cost roughly three times as much per millilitre as bottled e-liquid. If you already own a refillable device, salt nicotine e-liquid is the cheapest legal way to vape in Canada — and the part most guides skip is that choosing a bottle is mostly a device question, not a flavour question.
This guide covers what salt nicotine actually is, the brands we stock, and how to pick a bottle that will not ruin your coil.
Salt or freebase?
Short version: at Canada's 20 mg/mL cap, salt nicotine is the smoother of the two, which is why every pod kit on the market is built around it. Freebase suits higher-power tanks. If you want the full comparison we have already written it up in nicotine salts vs freebase nicotine — this guide assumes you have landed on salt and moves straight to picking a bottle.
The nicotine cap is the same for both. Since Canada's 20 mg/mL limit came into force, the difference is not how much nicotine you get — it is how it feels going down.
The one spec that matters: PG/VG
Most of the salt e-liquid we carry runs a 40VG/60PG blend. That number, not the flavour name, decides whether a bottle will work in your device.
| Your device | What to buy | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Small pod kit, tight draw | Higher PG (50PG+) | Thin liquid wicks fast enough for a small coil |
| Sub-ohm tank, airy draw | Higher VG, freebase | Thick liquid, more vapour, less throat hit |
| Refillable pod, mid-range | 40VG/60PG salt | The default that fits most pod kits |
Put a thick high-VG liquid in a small pod coil and it will not wick fast enough — you get a burnt taste within a day. That is the single most common cause of “this e-liquid ruined my coil,” and it is a compatibility problem, not a quality one.
The salt brands we stock
Our best-selling salt range, and the widest — over fifty flavours in stock, in both 30 mL and 60 mL. If you already vape Flavour Beast disposables, the bottled salts match the same flavour house.
Second best seller, and the one people come back to for iced fruit. 40VG/60PG, 30 mL. Blueberry Ice, Pineapple Ice, Fuji Apple Ice and Grape Ice are the ones that move.
The one range where you can get the same flavour in whatever format suits you — twenty flavours, each available in 30 mL and 60 mL, in both salt and freebase. Most brands here are 30 mL salt only. Pricing sits mid-pack. Newer to us, so it has not built the following the others have.
A short, well-established list — only a handful of flavours in stock, but they are consistent repeat buys. Straightforward fruit and tobacco profiles, 30 mL.
Smaller lineup, and its Tobacco is a consistent seller — worth a look if you are coming off cigarettes. 30 mL.
Longstanding Canadian name with a distinctive house style. Sanctuary and Circle of Life are the recognised profiles. 30 mL.
A short range, priced slightly under most of the others. 30 mL.
We also carry Lemon Drop and Drip’n salts. Both are stocked but neither has found much of an audience with our customers yet, so treat them as worth a try rather than a safe bet.
⚠️ Availability in bottled salt moves faster than in devices. Our salt range runs to over 200 bottles in stock at the time of writing, but individual flavours come and go quickly. Check the e-liquids collection for what is actually in stock rather than working from a list.
What it costs versus a disposable
| Format | Typical price | Liquid | Cost per mL |
|---|---|---|---|
| Salt e-liquid, 30 mL | $26.99 | 30 mL | ~$0.90 |
| Salt e-liquid, 60 mL | ~$34.99 | 60 mL | ~$0.58 |
| Large-format disposable | ~$49.99 | 40 mL | ~$1.25 |
| Closed pod 3-pack | ~$18.99 | 6 mL | ~$3.17 |
Bottled salt at $0.58–$0.90 per mL is roughly a third to a quarter of what closed pods cost to run, and cheaper than even the largest disposables. The trade is maintenance: you refill, you replace coils, and you carry a bottle.
Two honest caveats. First, the coil is a running cost that does not appear in the per-mL number. Second, the 60 mL bottles are better value only if you are confident you like the flavour — a 60 mL bottle you do not enjoy is worse value than a 30 mL one you finish.
Picking your first bottle
Coming off cigarettes
Start with a tobacco profile at 20 mg — Naked100 Euro Gold or Gcore Tobacco. Both are consistent sellers with us, which usually means people come back for them.
Coming off disposables
Pick the closest match to the flavour you were already buying. If you were on iced fruit, the Allo range has the widest choice of ice profiles.
Not sure yet
Buy 30 mL, not 60 mL, until you have found something you want to keep vaping.
Shop it: all e-liquids, the vape juice range, or refillable vape kits if you still need a device.
Frequently asked questions
Not in any device — it is designed for low-power pod systems and small coils. In a high-power sub-ohm tank, 20 mg salt delivers far more nicotine per puff than intended.
Canada caps nicotine concentration at 20 mg/mL. Any e-liquid sold legally here is at or below that.
It depends on your device and how you vape. As a reference point, a closed pod holds 2 mL — so 30 mL is about fifteen pods' worth of liquid.
The ratio of vegetable glycerine to propylene glycol. More PG means thinner liquid, sharper throat hit and better wicking in small coils. More VG means thicker liquid and more vapour.
Yes, we ship across Canada including Quebec. Provincial flavour rules apply, so the selection you can order varies by province.
The short version
If you already own a refillable device, bottled salt nicotine at $0.58–$0.90 per mL is the cheapest legal way to vape in Canada — a quarter of what closed pods cost to run. Match the PG/VG to your device before you look at flavour names; that is what decides whether the bottle works. And buy 30 mL until you have found one worth committing to.
